What stuck with you?

On Friday students were asked to reflect on their week and jot down something they learned, enjoyed, realized or tried.  I was really surprised to see how many wrote about Math!  Obviously there was some real learning taking place in our discussions about place value.  No one wrote that they loved the multiplication drills, not sure why??
We finally finished up a read aloud we had been reading - The Hundred Dresses.  It was a story with a great lesson.  Students wrote their own blog entry in their Journals and then we wrote one as a class, take a look!
Book buddies was a great success, we were paired up with Mrs. Rhodes Grade 3 class and did a fun activity about what it means to be a bucket filler.
We started to focus on, and will continue to focus on what it means to tune into a class discussion.  We have so much to learn from each other, so it was great to see one student reflect on how they love sitting in a group so they can get help when they are not sure of a Math concept.  Students are often asked to repeat an idea, add on to a thought or restate it in their own words.
Ask your son or daughter what the image below is all about....  Have a fantastic week!
